The Disadvantages of Work-From-Home Jobs

I know that work-from-home is the preferred for most people now. The convenience of staying at home and no need to go outside to travel and avoid traffic.
But here are the disadvantages that people do not tell you:

1. Place.
If you do not have your own room, you are screwed. It’s difficult to work and concentrate if people keeps disturbing you.

2. Personal utilities
Computer, internet and air-conditioning are mostly on you. So you must compensate this on your asking salary.

3. Benefits
You may loose some benefits such as health and social security. Confirm these on your employer before signing up.

4. Time
Most people use this as selling point to choose to work from home but the reality is totally opposite. The employer is more strict on you. If your skype switched to "away" status or you do not reply immediately, you will receive memo about this. Some employer will message you outside of agreed time. Example is if your work is 8-5, you will still receive message at 6PM and you are obligated to reply due to professional courtesy.

5. Communication
Either chat or video call, it is difficult to relay information, heck it’s already difficult to relay the task on face-to-face so good luck doing it digitally.

6. Social
Yup, we will lost our socialism on the process. Staying inside the house for 5 straight days can cause someone to feel stagnant. You may eventually adapt to it but it’s very difficult for me.

7. Lost of accomplishment
I do not know about other people, but accomplishment is not equal to money earned. Accomplishment is sometimes came from recognition, promotion or appreciation. Work from home is simple; you do this, get paid and get lost. Well, it’s not exactly like that but you will feel like that eventually down the line.

What I have listed here may not be for all companies out there. If you are planning to go to work-from-home, check some advise here that you may have overlook because of the blind spot of how high the salary being offered.
